The present work consists of analyzing the Sub-region of Ilhas da Foz do Amazonas
(SIFA), located in the Northern Amazon of Amapaense (ASA), through its spatial
interactions between its municipalities. In this context, the riverside face of the MacapáSantana Urban Agglomeration (AUMS), through its ports, plays an important role with
SIFA and ASA, as they have a strong historically built connection, since the Portuguese
colonial period with the aforementioned cut. The first section of this work discusses the
choice of the object of study, its justification and the methodology used. The relevance
of this research consists of adding to the studies already carried out on the composition
of the ASA sub-regions and their internal dynamics, where it was observed that the
cities of Macapá and Santana play an extremely important role in the ASA urban and
regional network. In addition to the identification with the study area, the originality of
the work is due to the fact that there are few studies developed analyzing the ASA.
From this perspective, the aim here is to increase the contribution to science, especially
to Amapá Geography in its regional context, as relations between the states of Amapá
and Pará are increasingly intertwined due to their recent dynamics, mainly at the mouth
of the Amazon River. The methodology used in this research was, initially, the
documentary bibliographical research related to the concepts of urban agglomeration,
spatial interactions, urban diversity, hybridity, urbanization in the Amazon and
Amazonian cities. The reading of scientific articles, available databases, books,
dissertations and theses helped in the discussion of the theoretical and methodological
framework of the research, mainly in the identification of urban-riverside spaces and
their conceptual condition. In line with the bibliographical research, field interviews
were carried out in Macapá, Santana, Afuá, Chaves and Gurupá, mainly in ports and
during trips between these municipalities, with the aim of analyzing spatial interactions
and hybridity within SIFA. In the second section, the Sub-region of the islands at the
mouth of the Amazon is characterized. In the third section, the formation of urban-river
spaces at the mouth of the Amazon River was analyzed, in line with the formation of
cities, their typologies and definitions. In the fourth section of this work, the importance
of the AUMS for the SIFA and the ASA was analyzed, through the analysis of their
spatial interactions. As a result of this doctoral thesis, it was identified that SIFA has a
network of spatial interactions, in which the relations between the AUMS and the
insular face of SIFA, where the territorial responsibility of AUMS within SIFA stands
out, , mainly due to the dynamics of exchange of goods and people, access to the
health and education network by riverside residents who gradually incorporate urban
dynamics into their daily lives, forming new ways of using space, which are called
urban-riverside spaces within SIFA, mainly at AUMS. |

O presente trabalho consiste em analisar a Sub-região das Ilhas da Foz do Amazonas (SIFA), localizada na Amazônia Setentrional Amapaense (ASA), por meio de suas interações espaciais entre seus municípios. Nesse contexto, a face ribeirinha da Aglomeração Urbana Macapá-Santana (AUMS), por meio de seus portos, possui um papel importante junto à SIFA e à ASA, pois possuem forte ligação historicamente construída, desde o período colonial lusitano com o recorte mencionado. Na primeira seção deste trabalho se discute a escolha do recorte do objeto de estudo, sua justificativa e a metodologia utilizada. A relevância desta pesquisa consiste em somar aos estudos já realizados sobre a composição das sub-regiões da ASA e suas dinâmicas internas, onde se observou que as cidades de Macapá e Santana possuem um papel extremamente importante na rede urbana e regional da ASA. Além da identificação com a área de estudo, o ineditismo do trabalho se dá pelo fato de que se apresentam poucos estudos desenvolvidos analisando a ASA, nessa ótica se busca aqui aumentar a contribuição à ciência, em especial à Geografia Amapaense em seu contexto regional, pois as relações entre os estados do Amapá e Pará cada vez mais se imbricam por suas dinâmicas recentes, principalmente na foz do rio Amazonas. A metodologia empregada nesta pesquisa foi, inicialmente, a pesquisa bibliográfica documental relativa aos conceitos de aglomeração urbana, interações espaciais, urbanodiversidade, hibridismo, urbanização na Amazônia e cidades amazônicas. A leitura de artigos científicos, banco de dados disponíveis, livros, dissertações e teses auxiliaram na discussão do arcabouço teórico e metodológico da pesquisa, principalmente na identificação dos espaços urbano-ribeirinhos e sua condição conceitual. Em consonância com a pesquisa bibliográfica foram realizadas entrevistas de campo em Macapá, Santana, Afuá, Chaves e Gurupá principalmente nos portos e trapiches durante as viagens entre estes municípios, com o objetivo de analisar as interações espaciais e o hibridismo no interior da SIFA. Na segunda seção, se caracteriza a Sub-região das ilhas da foz do Amazonas. Na terceira seção, se analisou a formação de espaços urbano-ribeirinhos na foz do rio amazonas, em consonância com a formação das cidades, suas tipologias e definições. Já na quarta seção deste trabalho, se analisou a importância da AUMS para a SIFA e a ASA, através da análise de suas interações espaciais.
