The Zila Mamede Central Library of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte,
inserts in its most varied activities the mandatory internship for students of the
Librarianship course, which provides opportunities for the bridge between theory and
professional practice as well as the development of their professional skills within the
activity. Given the importance and lack of studies aimed at evaluating the mandatory
internship, the research analyzes the insertion of professional skills included in the
National Curriculum Guidelines in the skills expected to be developed in the current
activities and processes of the mandatory internship at the Zila Mamede Central
Library. Its overall objective is to propose improvement actions and strategies to
contribute to the development of professional skills in the internship activity. Its specific
objectives include mapping the professional skills developed in the processes and
activities of each of the sectors that accompany the internship, knowledge of the
perceptions of students, supervisors and guiding professors on organizational
characteristics and activities of the internship mandatory and the comparison between
the foreseen professional competences inserted in the National Curriculum Guidelines
for the Librarianship Course and the foreseen competences to be developed in the
processes and activities of the internship. The research has an applied and descriptive
nature, with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The study includes as methods
the bibliographical research for the formation of the theoretical framework, documental
research with analysis of the final report of the internship and survey research, through
the application of questionnaires to the interns, supervisors and professors involved in
the activity. Data analysis was performed using simple descriptive statistics and
content analysis. In its results, the document analysis highlighted the departmentalized
structure of the library and the rich opportunity for professional practice, however
structural deficiencies were felt in the evaluative insertion of professional competences
in the final report, reinforcement in some theoretical knowledge for the practice of the
internship and communication fluidity between students, supervisors, and guiding
teachers in this period. In the questionnaires, similar perceptions related to the final
report and supervisors' commitment to the internship were observed. In addition,
verification of a professional profile that is mature and prepared to receive students.
There was a perception among interns and supervisors that professional skills were
developed during their passage through different sectors. The comparison between the analysis of the instruments and the competences foreseen in the National
Curriculum Guidelines allowed us to conclude that they are included in the activity. The
research concludes with a proposal of strategies and actions for the library and the
Librarianship course that involve aspects related to its organization and schedule,
activities and processes, responsible persons, communication, among others. It also
includes a proposal for a new model for the final evaluation report. |

A Biblioteca Central Zila Mamede da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, insere em suas mais variadas atividades o estágio obrigatório dos alunos do curso de Biblioteconomia, que oportuniza a ponte entre teoria e prática profissional bem como o desenvolvimento das suas competências profissionais dentro da atividade. Visto a importância e carência de estudos voltados para a avaliação do estágio obrigatório, a pesquisa analisa a inserção das competências profissionais inseridas nas Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais nas competências previstas para serem desenvolvidas nas atividades e processos atuais do estágio obrigatório na Biblioteca Central Zila Mamede. Seu objetivo geral é propor ações e estratégias de melhoria para contribuição do desenvolvimento das competências profissionais na atividade do estágio. Seus objetivos específicos incluem a realização do mapeamento das competências profissionais desenvolvidas nos processos e atividades de cada um dos setores que acompanham o estágio, o conhecimento das percepções dos alunos, supervisores e professores orientadores sobre características organizativas e atividades do estágio obrigatório e o comparativo entre as competências profissionais previstas inseridas nas Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais para o Curso de Biblioteconomia e as competências previstas para serem desenvolvidas nos processos e atividades do estágio. A pesquisa tem natureza aplicada e descritiva, com abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa. O estudo inclui como métodos a pesquisa bibliográfica para a formação do arcabouço teórico, pesquisa documental com análise do relatório final do estágio e pesquisa de levantamento, mediante a aplicação de questionários aos estagiários, supervisores e professores envolvidos na atividade. A análise dos dados foi realizada através da estatística descritiva simples e análise de conteúdo. Em seus resultados, a análise documental destacou a estrutura departamentalizada da biblioteca e rica oportunidade de prática profissional, porém sentiu-se carências estruturais na inserção avaliativa das competências profissionais no relatório final, reforço em alguns conhecimentos teóricos para a prática do estágio e fluidez comunicacional entre os alunos, supervisores e professores orientadores nesse período. Nos questionários foram observadas percepções semelhantes relacionadas ao relatório final e compromisso dos supervisores no estágio. Além disso, verificação de um perfil profissional maduro e preparado para o recebimento dos alunos. Houve percepção em estagiários e supervisores de que as competências profissionais foram desenvolvidas durante a passagem pelos diferentes setores. A comparação entre as análises dos instrumentos e as competências previstas nas Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais permitiu concluir que elas estão inclusas na atividade. A pesquisa conclui com a proposta de estratégias e ações para a biblioteca e o curso de Biblioteconomia que envolvem aspectos relacionados com sua organização e cronograma, atividades e processos, responsáveis, comunicação, entre outras.
