Resumo:Introduction: The Brazilian Company of Hospital Services – Ebserh currently manages 41 Federal University Hospitals (HUF), which constitute the largest hospital complex in the country. Aiming at improving the management of these hospitals and considering the heterogeneity of existing practices and processes related to care regulation, a Processes and Practices Notebook was created with the objective of supporting hospitals in the qualification of care regulation management processes. Within the scope of the notebook, twelve processes were mapped, among which the bed management process stood out due to the need for greater theoretical depth due to the relevance and complexity of this topic for hospitals. Objective: to understand the construction of the Care Regulation Processes and Practices Notebook in the Ebserh Network and the strategies for the bed management process in hospitals. Method: The study was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, a study was carried out with a qualitative approach of the experience report type lived in the construction of the Processes and Practices Notebook of the assistance regulation of the Ebserh Network; In the second stage, an integrative literature review was carried out on strategies for the bed management process in hospitals. Results: With regard to the experience report, it was possible to describe how the Document of Processes and Practices of care regulation was built, which consolidates recommended practices to be followed by the entire Ebserh Network, in addition to the experience of supporting the implementation of these practices in a pilot hospital. Regarding the integrative review, it was possible to verify that the strategies for the bed management process in hospitals cover the following general themes: simulation modeling techniques; implementation of internal management of hospital beds and use of information systems. Conclusion: The study carried out made it possible to understand the management of processes related to care regulation in the HUF of the Ebserh Network. It was possible to understand how the mapping of processes, the construction of flows, the definition of best practices took place, in addition to the experience of supporting the implementation of the notebook in a hospital in the Network. Furthermore, it was possible to study in detail strategies for the bed management process which help managers in decision-making, considering that the theme encompasses a set of highly complex processes.
