Among the teaching resources to facilitate the teaching and learning process of basic
education, the textbook stands out, which, through the National Textbook Program
(NTP), are made available by the Ministry of Education (MEC). Despite being the
main didactic resource used by teachers and students of the public education
network in Brazil, these books are produced on a national scale, so they cannot
cover all the contents in a dense and adequate way to regional realities, especially
when it comes to the Sertão northeastern. In this way, the present research aims to
produce a paradidactic material about the Novo Rural in the Immediate Region of
Patos - PB, aimed at the 7th year of Elementary School. The methodological course
initially took place with the bibliographic survey of classic and also current works on
the teaching of Geography, paradidactic books and the Novo Rural. Then, there was
an analysis of the content present in textbooks and later the analysis of the
questionnaire applied to Geography teachers in the municipal public network of the
Immediate Region of Patos - PB. As the main result of the research, a textual
material entitled O Novo Rural na Região Imediata de Patos - PB was produced. This
material can be used as a complement to the 7th grade textbook adopted in public
schools, as it will also be available in the virtual version for consultation by the
general population. It is expected that this production will contribute to teaching from
the perspective of Geographic Education and School Geography, that is, content that
has meaning for the student, as it deals with the local reality where their experiences
occur, and for the improvement of pedagogical practices. |

Entre os recursos didáticos para facilitar o processo de ensino e aprendizagem da educação básica destaca-se o livro didático, que por meio do Programa Nacional do Livro Didático PNLD, são disponibilizados pelo Ministério da Educação MEC. Apesar de ser o principal recurso didático utilizado pelos docentes e discentes da rede pública de ensino no Brasil, esses livros são produzidos em escala nacional, assim não conseguem abordar todos os conteúdos de maneira densa e adequados às realidades regionais, especialmente quando se trata do Sertão nordestino. Desse modo, a presente pesquisa tem como objetivo produzir um material paradidático sobre o Novo Rural na Região Imediata de Patos - PB, voltado para o 7º ano do Ensino Fundamental. O percurso metodológico deu-se inicialmente com o levantamento bibliográfico das obras clássicas e também atuais sobre o ensino de Geografia, livros paradidáticos e o Novo Rural. Seguido, fez-se a análise do conteúdo presente nos livros didáticos e posteriormente a análise do questionário aplicado aos professores de Geografia da rede pública municipal da Região Imediata de Patos - PB. Como resultado principal da pesquisa, foi produzido um material textual intitulado O Novo Rural na Região Imediata de Patos - PB. Este material poderá ser utilizado como complemento ao livro didático do 7º ano adotado nas escolas públicas, como também estará disponível na versão virtual para consulta da população em geral.
