Solo motherhood is a phenomenon that has been growing in recent years and became of fundamental importance to discuss this increase, its determinations and also its implications for women. The main objective of this work is to approach and analyze families headed by women, as well as reflect on the poverty of current Brazilian society in which these family arrangements are included. The methodology used consists of a literay review and also the research and analysis of quantitative data. It is proposed, therefore, to present reflections and analyze the influence of this condition in which many women are included, making it necessary to understand the process that structures this scenario and critically reflect on this reality. In view of this, it is possible to state that there is an inseparable relationship between the emergence of female single parenthood and the called feminization of poverty, in which patriarchal gender relations are intertwined, aggravated even more in the Bolsonaro government. A família monoparental feminina é uma configuração que possui como chefe e única responsável pela casa, pelos filhos e pelo sustento, uma figura feminina, ou seja, uma mulher. A maternidade solo é um fenômeno que vem crescendo nos últimos anos e se tornou de fundamental importância discutir sobre esse aumento, suas determinações e também suas implicações para as mulheres. O objetivo central do trabalho é abordar e analisar as famílias chefiadas por mulheres, bem como refletir acerca do quadro de pobreza da atual sociedade brasileira em que se incluem esses arranjos familiares. A metodologia utilizada consiste em uma revisão literária e também na pesquisa e análise de dados quantitativos. Propõe-se, assim, apresentar reflexões e analisar a influência dessa condição em que muitas mulheres estão inseridas, se fazendo necessário compreender o processo que estrutura esse cenário e refletir criticamente sobre tal realidade.
