Resumo:This research study examines the implications of remote work for employees with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The study compares the challenges of telecommuting with those faced by individuals with ADHD. Based on an extensive literature review, several points of concern regarding the performance of employees with ADHD in remote work settings are identified, including issues of indiscipline, self-control, and concentration. The study explores key concepts by examining existing literature on remote work and ADHD, drawing from diverse sources such as scientific articles, journals, books, theses, and dissertations to establish a comprehensive theoretical framework. The research methods employed include bibliographic research, documentary analysis, and autoethnographic analysis. Ultimately, the study concludes that while remote work offers advantages in terms of flexibility and cost reduction in physical workspace, it also presents challenges, such as difficulties in maintaining focus, organization, time management, and establishing boundaries between work and personal life. Considering the context of individuals predisposed to distraction and indiscipline, it can be inferred that remote work is likely to result in tensions and difficulties for telecommuters, challenging the perception that remote work is entirely autonomous and flexible. Consequently, it is crucial to recognize the complexity of the implications of this work arrangement in order to promote balanced and satisfactory conditions for both employees and organizations.
