The specific objectives of this study are to identify the tourist profile, understand the reasons that lead them to choose this experience, investigate the perceptions attributed by them to this experience, as well as to evaluate their satisfaction with the tour through the largest preserved stretch of Atlantic Forest in the country. To conduct this research, a questionnaire was administered to one hundred tourists who have already taken the trip. The questionnaire addressed aspects related to the tourists' profile, their motivations for choosing this travel experience, their perceptions of the environmentally conscious nature of the tour, and their overall evaluation of the tour. The results obtained reveal that tourists do not believe that this activity has an environmentally conscious nature and that awareness and environmental education practices are necessary throughout the journey. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar o papel do ecoturismo como fator motivacional para os turistas que realizam o trajeto Curitiba-Morretes através do trem Serra Verde Express. Os objetivos específicos deste estudo são identificar o perfil do turista, compreender as razões que os levam a optar por essa experiência e investigar as percepções atribuídas por eles a essa vivência, bem como avaliar a satisfação com o passeio pelo maior trecho preservado de Mata Atlântica no país. Para realizar essa pesquisa, foi aplicado um questionário a cem turistas que já realizaram o passeio. O questionário abordou aspectos relacionados ao perfil dos turistas, suas motivações para escolher essa experiência de viagem, suas percepções sobre o caráter ecologicamente consciente do passeio e sua avaliação geral do passeio.
