Because it is a problem that directly impacts women's health and well-being, vulvovaginitis, such as candidiasis and bacterial vaginosis, is of clinical importance worldwide. A therapeutic alternative for the treatment of vulvovaginitis that has been researched and gained evidence is probiotics. Probiotics are live microorganisms capable of exerting a medicinal effect depending on the dosage. This study aims to provide scientifically based information on the use of probiotics in the most prevalent causes of vulvovaginitis. The methodology was based an integrative review, based the collection of articles in the PubMed, Lilacs, Scopus and Embase databases, from 2013 to May 2023. In the end, 11 articles were included in the review. The analyzed studies pointed to probiotics as promising therapeutic agents, but their most effective role is still as an adjuvant to traditional treatment schemes. Therefore, the need for more robust studies is seen so that we have greater certainty about the therapeutic efficacy of probiotics for vulvovaginal infections. Em torno de 75% da população feminina em idade reprodutiva será acometida pelo menos uma vez na vida com candidíase vulvovaginal, não havendo restrição por nível socioeconômica. Por ser uma problemática que impacta diretamente na saúde e bem-estar da mulher, as vulvovaginites, como a candidíase e vaginose bacteriana, tem importância clínica em todo o mundo. Uma alternativa terapêutica para tratamento das vulvovaginites que vem sendo pesquisada e ganhando evidência são os probióticos. Os probióticos são microrganismos vivos capazes de exercer efeito medicamentoso a depender da dosagem. O objetivo deste estudo é fornecer informações com embasamento científico sobre o uso dos probióticos nas vulvovaginites mais prevalentes. A metodologia baseou-se na construção de uma revisão integrativa, a partir da coleta de artigos nas bases de dados PubMed, Lilacs, Scorpus e Embase, no período de 2013 a maio de 2023. Ao final, 11 artigos foram incluídos na revisão. Os estudos analisados apontaram os probióticos como promissores agentes terapêuticos, porém sendo o seu papel mais eficaz como adjuvante aos esquemas de tratamentos tradicionais.
