| Resumo: | Pipa beach is the scene of several sporting events, the present study presents the Pipalta highland events held from 2021 by the Alta na Pipa group and the relationships created from the events' realizations, both with tourist equipment and with the community. The general objective was to analyze the relevance of the altinha championships held on Pipa beach, Tibau do Sul/RN, as a tourist attraction with potential for the locality. The exploratory-descriptive research had a quali-quantitative approach with the use of multiple data collection instruments, such as: bibliographical research, in loco research and participant on Pipa beach, semi-structured interview with the event organizer and online questionnaires aimed at the public of the Pipalta championships. The results obtained from this research indicate the potential of the event as a tourist attraction and local social interaction, and the characteristics of tourists who take this type of trip in order to better adapt future events to the attending public. From this research, it is possible to expand the studies about this sport in the perspective of tourism. |
