Resumo:This study aims to understand the relationship between the agrarian policies of the Temer and Bolsonaro governments and the increase in land conflicts in Brazil since 2016. Based on a theoretical and methodological approach of historical and dialectical materialism, the research analyzes land concentration, violence in rural areas, and the struggle for land, tracing a historical overview from the colonial period to the present day. Through a bibliographic and documentary research, data from the Pastoral Land Commission on agrarian conflicts and the analysis of government policies are explored. The study seeks to comprehend how violence is deeply rooted in the formation of Brazilian society and how the counter-reform agrarian policies of the governments in question have contributed to the escalation of these conflicts. The research aims to recover the history of the Brazilian agrarian issue and reflect on the relationship between the social and agrarian question, considering the defense of the rights of the working class and the role of social workers in this context.
