Resumo:This research investigates public policies aimed at the sexual and reproductive health of homeless women in Brazil. The general objective was to analyze the sexual and reproductive health care policies and programs aimed at homeless women in Brazil. The specific objectives were: 1) To characterize the condition of homeless women based on the determinations of class, gender and race; 2) Apprehend the contributions of feminist movements to public policies for homeless women in relation to sexual and reproductive health; 3) Discuss the incorporation of the demands and particularities of homeless women into national policies aimed at women and the homeless population in the period 2004-2016; 4) Survey and characterize the policies and legislative initiatives to face menstrual poverty as a sexual health demand of women living on the streets. The research is based on the historical materialist method and feminist approaches. The object is analyzed considering the totality of bourgeois and racist patriarchal society and its contradictions. Qualitative research was carried out, using bibliographical and documentary research as main techniques on policies for women and HP in the period 2004 to 2006. The results of our study indicate that when analyzing public policies for women's health and those related to HP, we verified a situation of late and limited incorporation of street women. The homeless women is partial and their advances were in delay in comparision to “other” women. Refered to legislative initiatives to combat menstrual poverty, related bills have emerged as an important measure to guarantee access to menstrual hygiene products for women in vulnerable situations and people who menstruate, but their expansion and guarantee to homeless people remains a debate in the legislative field. The study of this issue leads us to reflect on the need to promote gender equality, recognize and support homeless women. Homeless women are part of a marginalized and invisible group, so a more in-depth analysis of their reality and the overlap with the social issue and public policies on sexual and reproductive health for these women becomes socially and politically relevant. Keywords: homeless women; public policy; sexual rights; reproductive rights; menstrual poverty.
