As determinações sociais do adoecimento mental das mulheres
description The psychic illness and experience of disease are constructed differently for men and women, as gender power inequalities affect women's health more intensely. This issue is related to women's historical position in society, as the psychiatric asylum was used as a space of violence and isolation for bodies considered deviant. In light of this reality, the main objective of this work is to discuss the social and historical determinants of women's mental illness. To accomplish this task, the investigation is based on a set of theoretical, methodological, and historical-political references. The methodology used includes bibliographic and documentary research, taking into account the gaps that still exist in academic production regarding the themes that permeate the investigation. The theoretical and methodological foundation is supported by the historical-dialectical materialism method, starting from the problematization of reality and seeking the determinations and mediations that explain the problem in light of the social totality that gives it meaning: the bourgeois, patriarchal, and racist society. Based on these historical and methodological constructs, the research critically focuses on the processes of understanding the living and working conditions of Brazilian women and their implications on mental health; the historical relationship between gender and mental health policies; the categorization of women who are more vulnerable to mental illness; and finally, the debate on how the National Mental Health Policy incorporates and addresses the social determinants of women's mental illness. Among the most relevant results of this journey, the importance of categories such as patriarchal gender relations, consubstantiality, sexual division of labor, and family are highlighted for understanding the social dynamics, women's living conditions, and the numerous violence instigated in the heteropatriarchal-machist-racist-capitalist-bourgeois sociability, centered on the intensification of psychiatricization, medicalization, pathologization, and pharmacologization of the particularities and singularities of mental illness. This understanding takes into account the consubstantiality of class, race, and gender relations. The specificity of contradictions in Brazilian reality, the role of coloniality, and its repercussions are emphasized. Finally, the possibilities for overcoming and addressing these issues are evidenced in Mental Health Policies and the National Policy of Comprehensive Women's Health Care, imbued with challenges considering the context of contradictory advances, setbacks, and defunding.

O adoecimento psíquico e a vivência da doença são construídos de forma diferente para homens e mulheres, pois as desigualdades de poder entre os gêneros afetam a saúde das mulheres de maneira mais intensa. Essa questão se relaciona com o lugar histórico da mulher na sociedade, já que o manicômio foi usado como um espaço de violência e isolamento dos corpos considerados desviantes. Frente a esta realidade, este trabalho tem como principal objetivo discutir os determinantes sociais e históricos do adoecimento mental de mulheres. Para realizar essa tarefa, a investigação baseia-se em um conjunto de referências teórico-metodológicas e histórico-políticas. Como metodologia, foi utilizada a pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, levando em conta as lacunas ainda presentes na produção acadêmica sobre os temas que perpassam a investigação. A fundamentação teórico-metodológica apoiou-se no método do materialismo histórico-dialético, partindo da problematização do real e buscando as determinações e mediações que explicam o problema à luz da totalidade social que lhe dá significado: a sociedade burguesa, patriarcal e racista.Com base nesses construtos históricos-metodológicos, a pesquisa pauta-se criticamente nos processos de apreensão das condições de vida e de trabalho das mulheres brasileiras e suas implicações sobre a saúde mental; a relação histórica entre gênero e políticas de saúde mental; a categorização de quem são as mulheres acometidas por maior vulnerabilidade ao adoecimento mental; por fim, debatendo como a Política Nacional de Saúde Mental incorpora e enfrenta os determinantes sociais do adoecimento mental das mulheres. Entre os resultados mais relevantes deste trajeto, ressalta-se a importância das categorias das relações patriarcais de gênero, consubstancialidade, divisão sexual do trabalho e da família para a compreensão da dinâmica social, das condições de vida das mulheres e das inúmeras violências instauradas na sociabilidade heteropatriarcal-machista-racista-capitalista-burguesa, centrada na intensificação da psiquiatrização, medicalização, patologização e farmacologização das particularidades e singularidades do adoecimento mental. Essa apreensão, portanto, leva em conta a consubstancialidade das relações de classe, raça e gênero. Ressalta-se a especificidade de contradições existentes na realidade brasileira, da função da manicolonialidade e dos seus rebatimentos.
