Resumo:The debate about the structure and formation of the capitalist society that we know today is essential. In this monograph, the central theme of State violence was addressed, directly relating to the work “Resurrection”, by the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy. The aim of this study was to carry out an in-depth analysis of how state violence is presented in Tolstoy's "Resurrection". These relationships are exposed through the dialectical method, to generate reflection on the importance of literature in the Social Work course for exposing, mediating, and combating social inequalities. Marx and Engels focus on class struggle and revolution, while Tolstoy highlights personal transformation in the face of this violence. They criticize state oppression and its contribution to social injustice.
