description This study aims to analyze the working conditions in the health sector, during the period of the Covid 19 pandemic in Brazil and worldwide, with emphasis on gender and from the theoretical notion of 'Decent Work' established by the International Labor Organization (ILO), also analyzing efforts made on behalf of the theme. The methodology includes a theoretical review on the notion of decent work and women's participation in the health sector, as well as on the implementation of laws and commitments made by Brazil, besides the systematization of quantitative data from official statistics related to the theme, such as the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), Relação Anual e Informações Sociais (RAIS) e a Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra a Domicílios (PNAD). Among the main results is the existence of a division of labor present in the health sector, already defined in the literature, where there is a hierarchical relationship and/or differentiated labor position between the sexes. The analyses of participation in occupations in the health sector, by sex, showed a massive presence of women in jobs where the art of caring predominates, these are: Nursing technicians and assistants, higher level nurses, Speech Therapy, Nutrition and similar areas, where a certain social and economic devaluation, besides precarization, also predominates. Furthermore, through empirical data, it was noticed that women workers in the health sector, and especially in nursing, because they are in the front line of the fight against the coronavirus, were the most affected by the disease.

Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar as condições de trabalho, no setor de saúde, durante o período da pandemia de Covid – 19 no Brasil e no mundo, com ênfase sobre o gênero e a partir da noção teórica de ‘Trabalho Decente’ instituído pela Organização Internacional do Trabalho (OIT), analisando também esforços realizados em prol do tema. A metodologia inclui uma revisão teórica quanto à noção de trabalho decente e a participação feminina no setor de saúde, bem como sobre a implementação de leis e compromissos assumidos pelo Brasil, além da sistematização de dados quantitativos e partir de estatísticas oficiais relacionadas ao tema, a exemplo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), Relação Anual e Informações Sociais (RAIS) e a Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra a Domicílios (PNAD). Dentre os principais resultados constata-se a existência de uma divisão de trabalho presente no setor de saúde, já definida na literatura, onde mantém-se uma relação hierárquica e/ou de posição laboral diferenciada entre os sexos. As análises da participação em ocupações no setor de saúde, por sexo, evidenciaram uma presença massiva de mulheres em postos de trabalho onde a arte de cuidar predomina, são eles: Técnicos e auxiliares de enfermagem, enfermeiros de nível superior, Fonoaudiologia, Nutrição e áreas semelhantes, onde também predomina certa desvalorização social e econômica, além de precarização.
