| Resumo: | The objective of this study was to examine the actions carried out in the locality of
Jardim de Piranhas-RN, which aim not only at adapting to the Semiarid region but
also enabling it through ensuring water availability. In this sense, the study sought to
address the role of plate cisterns in guaranteeing water in rural communities in
Jardim de Piranhas. Interviews were carried out with leaders with some families that
were contemplated with cisterns from projects developed in the municipality. The
questions aimed to analyze the improvements related to the arrival of the cisterns in
the communities, as well as the perception of the population that benefited from the
implementation of the projects. Based on the results presented in the research, the
importance of cisterns as a solution to face water scarcity in the semi-arid region is
evident. Thus, it can be concluded that cisterns are an important solution for families,
improving people's quality of life and promoting environmental sustainability. |
