This course conclusion work had as main objective to analyze the heating
of water by a solar collector in different flows and configurations. The experiment
was carried out at the Laboratory of Hydraulic Machines and Solar Energy
(LMHES) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), using a solar
water collector with forced flow. Initially, theoretical concepts related to solar
energy, heat transfer and water heating systems were reviewed. This review
supported the experimental design and identified the main parameters to be
analyzed. The solar water collector used in the experiment consists of a copper
absorber coil with parallel tubes connected to two lateral tubes. The collector is a
usual conventional flat plate type model. The operating regime used in continuous
flow. Tests were conducted on a solar collector with two configurations: one with
the absorber tubes covered with matte black painted aluminum fins and the other
without fins on the copper tubes. This comparison allowed evaluating the
performance of the two models. Different water flows were used in the tests to
analyze the performance of the collector under different conditions. The tests
carried out with the solar collector in question presented data that characterize its
properties and demonstrate its viability for use, due to its good thermal
performance. These data highlight the efficiency of the collector in capturing and
transferring heat, proving its ability to heat water efficiently and sustainably. |
