Resumo:The state of Rio Grande do Norte was one of the pioneers and recordists in the production of oil and gas in onshore fields. However, in recent years production in these fields has had significant reductions and one of the main causes has been the maturity of their producing wells. One of the technologies applied in the recovery of mature wells has been the secondary recovery through the injection of saturated or superheated steam through the pipes of these wells. However, in the project of a pipeline subject to temperature variations, there are situations in which the stresses due to thermal expansions may not have been anticipated. In this case the designers have an additional task of making a flexibility analysis of the pipes. Therefore, the objective of this work was to analyze stresses developed in industrial piping through the use of two numerical simulation software, CAESAR II and ANSYS, the latter being a finite element program. The results obtained in both programs were analyzed and compared, showing a similar behavior for the stress field due to thermal expansion.
