Resumo: | The current globalizing context has generated notable changes in the world of work, from different perspectives. The flexibilization of production reached different places worldwide, and this context also occurred in the Potiguar space, especially in the textile industry, which expanded strongly in the current globalizing period, especially in the beginning of the 21st century. Thus, this research will seek to understand the textile industry and women's work in Parelhas (RN), in the current stage of globalization, based on the analysis of workers in a factory in Parelhas, thus characterizing a case study. For this, the socio-spatial context of the constitution of the textile industry will be understood, associated with the characterization of the workers who carry out work activities in this industrial typology and the challenges and perspectives of female work in it. Thus, as a methodology for the development of this research, bibliographical research, document analysis and field research were carried out in a factory in Pará, seeking to understand, thus, the relations of globalization with the textile industry, associated with the expansion of female work, in a comprehensive geographical perspective. Therefore, when discussing the textile industry and female work in Parelhas (RN), in the current stage of globalization, an attempt was made to deepen the social and spatial consequences of the female presence in this industrial branch, especially in such an unequal space as the capitalist, in order to build full citizenship and equality for all female workers. |
