The Pharmaceutical Supply Center in the hospital unit is a pharmaceutical service that performs various activities such as: receipt, selection, programming, acquisition, storage, distribution and dispensing of medicines, as well as planning, coordinating, executing, monitoring and evaluating the actions of Pharmaceutical Assistance and effectively carrying out the cycle of pharmaceutical assistance, being one of the most important steps in a hospital pharmacy. The pharmaceutical professional directly contributes to the outcome of the treatment of every patient in the hospital, since through their actions it is possible to guarantee a specific treatment, thus guaranteeing the rational use of medicines. This study aims to address the attributions of the pharmaceutical professional in a pharmaceutical supply center (CAF) of a public hospital. RESUMO Dentre os diversos setores de um hospital público, está a farmácia hospitalar, na qual o farmacêutico é o responsável técnico e administrativo, tendo como principal função manter a integridade e saúde com qualidade na assistência para o paciente, buscando eficiência do uso dos recursos públicos e tendo o uso racional e seguro de fármacos, como objetivo assistencial, preventivo, investigativo e desempenho da assistência farmacêutica hospitalar. A Central de Abastecimento Farmacêutico na unidade hospitalar é um setor onde são realizadas várias atividades como: recebimento, seleção, programação, aquisição, armazenamento, distribuição e dispensação dos medicamentos, bem como planejar, coordenar, executar, acompanhar e avaliar as ações da Assistência Farmacêutica realizando de forma eficaz o ciclo da Assistência Farmacêutica, sendo vital na farmácia hospitalar. O profissional farmacêutico contribui diretamente no resultado do tratamento de todo paciente no âmbito hospitalar, uma vez que por meios de suas ações é possível garantir um tratamento específico, focando no uso racional de medicamentos.
