| Resumo: | The municipality of Galinhos, located on the north coast of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, is associated with its natural beauty of sand dunes, sea, and inlet that enchant the residents and attract people from various regions. According to reports, the community marks its presence in the territory originally as a fishing colony. Despite having originated the city and continuing to be present in the daily lives of Galinhos residents, the development of its fishing roots is questioned both with the arrival of large urban projects (such as salt farms and wind farms) and the intensification of tourism in the region. Taking into account the threats to the maintenance of artisanal fishing activities, the need to strengthen studies on the delimitation and restructuring of their territories gains focus. Thus, the general objective of this work is to propose guidelines for a plan to delimit and restructure the fishing territory in the municipality, considering the ways of appropriating the place. Specifically, the aim is to propose zoning of the fishing territory, considering the concept discussed and worked on by the community, and the spatial analysis of the territory; propose the polygonal delimitation of the fishing territory, considering technical and community readings; and identify the facilities that support fishing activities, considering the conditions of existing ones and the need for new structures. The objectives will be achieved through bibliographic research; written and oral accounts from the community; analysis of legislation; morphological study of the city; workshops with the fishermen; as well as the production of maps and graphic materials. Investigating the socio-spatial relations of the Galinhos community also means understanding how everyday activities enrich the population's network of connections in a bucolic and coastal town that is constantly targeted by the power of capital. Therefore, as possibly the greatest outcome of this work, its contribution to strengthening the struggle for the resistance and maintenance of the city's fishing territory is highly valued. In this sense, the title "This is a corner of the sea, to live and fish: guidelines for a plan to delimit and structure the fishing territory in the Municipality of Galinhos - RN" represents the aspirations of a small coastal community in Rio Grande do Norte that resists echoing cries of struggle to establish its presence in the territory of the city it belongs to. |
