When contemplating on the matter, this study was created with the intetion to elaborate an architectural proposal of a Cultural Space in the city with an approach in the adoption of bioclimatic strategies, working on the theme: cultural center. More specifically, it is intended to identify what are the particularities and needs for the development of a cultural center, in order to meet the demands of the Community of Caraúbas. As well as pointing out the bioclimatic constructive strategies for a hot and dry climate relevant to this typology and, finally, developing the project of a cultural space, at the level of a preliminary project, aiming at a good thermal performance. The idealization of this comes from the author's personal interest in making a contribution to the community of origin, in addition to the intention of promoting new reflections on the adoption of bioclimatic strategies in this climate with adverse characteristics, from irregular rainfall to constant droughts. To support this proposal, a theoretical review of authors such as: Luís Milanesi (2003), Lamberts; Dutra; Pereira (2004), among others, and important regulations for the development of architectural design. Subsequently, local information is collected through field visits and data from Google Maps. Finally, the development of the project continues with the design concept using softwares such as Autocad, Sketchup and Enscape, and applications as Miro.

Caraúbas, localizado no semiárido potiguar, é palco das mais diversas expressões culturais em seu cotidiano, desde a poesia à dança. Entretanto, na cidade há uma carência de espaços culturais com infraestrutura que dê suporte a estas atividades. Pensando nisso, este estudo objetiva elaborar uma proposta arquitetônica de um Espaço Cultural na cidade com enfoque na adoção de estratégias bioclimáticas, trabalhando o tema: centro cultural. Mais especificamente, pretende-se identificar quais as particularidades e necessidades para o desenvolvimento de um centro cultural, com a finalidade de atender as demandas da comunidade caraubense. Como também, apontar as estratégias construtivas bioclimáticas para o clima quente e seco pertinentes a esta tipologia e, por fim, desenvolver o projeto de um espaço cultural, a nível de anteprojeto, visando um bom desempenho térmico. A idealização disto, parte de um interesse pessoal da autora em deixar uma contribuição para a comunidade de origem, além do intuito de promover novas reflexões sobre a adoção de estratégias bioclimáticas neste clima com características adversas, desde irregularidade de chuva a secas constantes. Para respaldar esta proposta, realizou-se uma revisão teórica de autores como: Luís Milanesi (2003), Lamberts; Dutra; Pereira (2004), dentre outros, e de importantes normativas para o desenvolvimento do projeto arquitetônico. Posteriormente, coleta-se informações do local por meio de visitas de campo e dados do Google Maps.
