Resumo:The research developed here has, as its main objective, to demonstrate in a systemic way, if the main indicators presented in academic works, whether theses, dissertations, monographs, as well as in the literature, are present in the maintenance sector of companies in Brazilian soil. The research counts on 33 works, strictly selected through the systematic literature review method, generating a total of 89 indicators surveyed, more than 200 citations, being represented by the ten most cited. With an exploratory approach, we also questioned more than 100 maintenance managers from companies such as Coca-Cola, Rolls-Royce, Petrobras and Raizen, about the maintenance indicators used within their sectors. Within the questionnaire was also qualified the existence or not of a maintenance planning sector, the amount of employees and time of experience in maintenance by the interviewees. Finally, comparing the indicators selected in the literature review performed here with the most used among the participating companies, it is possible to conclude that seven, among ten, are used in large scale and by more qualified professionals, among several sectors of the industry, having the main objective as achieved. The work is classified as exploratory-descriptive, being developed through a systematic bibliographic review and survey research, with a qualitative approach seeking to elucidate the relationship between theory and practice in the scope of maintenance indicators.
