Resumo:The commercial diets that are used in aquaculture projects as feeding for the cultivated animals can end up causing high production costs, and in this way, secondary and natural food sources can be an outlet for the cheapening of production costs. The current study evaluated the zootechnical performance of nilotic tilapia juveniles fed with commercial feed and lemna in natura. Six aquariums of 60 liters and sixty tilapia juveniles were used, which were stored in groups of ten per aquarium. Feeding was performed twice a day for a period of 42 days. The ingestion of fresh lemna does not affect the gain of mass and length of the fish, and there are no significant differences between treatments.
