Descrição
Resumo:This study aims to examine and highlight the benefits of effective project management in the Public Administration, with a particular focus on the strategic planning phase. To achieve this objective, a bibliographic research was conducted, drawing upon relevant books and scientific articles. Additionally, this study seeks to present a specific case where management tools were applied in the public sector and analyze the outcomes obtained. The case under analysis is the Development of the Institutional Plan at UERGS (PDI UERGS, 2022), where management tools such as the SWOT Matrix and Balanced Scorecard were utilized to formulate the institution's strategic plan. As a result, the Higher Education Institution (HEI) established seven strategic objectives based on its three main pillars: comprehensive human formation, knowledge production and dissemination, and university structure, innovation, and interaction. These objectives serve as a compass for the organization's future, reflected in a strategic map comprising specific targets for each administrative unit, accompanied by measurable indicators to monitor and control progress. These analyses and findings contribute to understanding the importance of effective project management in the Public Administration, highlighting the significance of the management tools employed in the strategic planning process. It is anticipated that these discoveries can assist other public organizations in enhancing their project management practices.
