The foot is an important component of the human body and has several functions such as support, walking and impact absorption. Functional changes in the foot can lead to the appearance of pathologies. Plantar fasciitis occurs due to morphological or mechanical alterations of the plantar fascia, a fundamental structural element for the foot. Fasciitis is considered a painful inflammatory process in the plantar fascia region, in addition to being a recurring cause of heel pain in adults. Among the risk factors are high body mass index and anatomical and biomechanical alterations of the plantar arch. Studies show that the use of orthopedic insoles is an efficient therapeutic strategy in the treatment of plantar fasciitis. Through the Finite Element Method (FEM) it is possible to carry out structural analysis in order to obtain answers about tensions, displacements and deformations in structures subjected to mechanical efforts. Based on that, a static structural analysis will be carried out, using MEF, in an orthopedic insole model used in the market for the treatment of plantar fasciitis. Initially, the pre-processing stage was carried out, in which a solid model of the orthopedic insole was developed in CAD software, which was imported into the finite element software, where the mesh was defined, specified the material and the conditions of contour (loads and fastenings). Subsequently, the processing of the analysis was carried out, which is the step of performing the calculations. Finally, the post-processing stage, with the analysis of results. From the results obtained, it was verified that the insole model presented low values of tension and deflection in the load application areas and a good uniformity in the distribution of the applied plantar pressure. Finally, for future work, the insole model can be improved through a structural topological optimization study. |

2023-07-17T12:56:18Z 2023-07-17T12:56:18Z 2023-07-06 bachelorThesis DAMASCENO JUNIOR, Amarildo Silva.
