Resumo:The drug interaction and incompatibility between meropenem and dobutamine used in neonatal ICU is a bibliographic review based on data collection. Research is very important for the health area, especially for newborn patients who have such a significant fragility. In this context, concepts about drug interaction, meropenem and dobutamine will be discussed, exposing works aimed at studying such concepts and applications. It is evident that the main problem is the scarcity of works that revolve around studying and identifying possible interactions between meropenem and dobutamine, and thus guaranteeing the safety and efficacy of drug treatment. Among the difficulties encountered, the objective is to understand the possible benefits, risks and relevant clinical considerations when administering these drugs together in newborns in the NICU. As a search strategy, information from articles/works sought in SCIELO, the Virtual Health Library (BVS), Public Medline (PUBMED), and the Periódicos Capes platform is used in the search, identifying original articles and review articles. bibliography between the years 2018 -2023, in order to collect studies related to the theme and the public in question. It is concluded that the topic is highly relevant because it exposes questions about interactions between meropenem and dobutamine, serving as literature to help health professionals, thus avoiding possible errors and therapeutic failures.
