Resumo:This monograph aims to analyze the actions related to sustainable solid waste management practices developed by the Public Defender's Office of the state of Rio Grande do Norte - DPE/RN. To achieve this objective, three specific goals were established: to verify the rational use of natural resources and public assets by the Public Defender's Office of the state of RN, to identify the practice of managing the solid waste generated by the institution, and to analyze how the socio-environmental actions proposed in the A3P (Environmental Agenda in Public Administration) are addressed. The methodology used in this work was exploratory and descriptive in nature. It involved bibliographic research, interviews, and questionnaires to understand the internal process and the current reality of solid waste management in the institution. The research was based on case studies and bibliographic research, adopting a qualitative approach to analyze, interpret, and understand the facts. The final considerations revealed the need for significant progress by the institution in adopting sustainable practices and implementing an environmental agenda. The absence of effective policies and programs to address environmental issues and promote sustainability in various areas of operation was evident. In light of this scenario, it is essential for the Public Defender's Office to recognize the importance of responsible environmental management and take concrete measures to incorporate sustainability into its daily activities. This includes establishing internal policies, sensitizing and training employees, including sustainability criteria in bidding processes, and promoting socio-environmental responsibility. The implementation of the environmental agenda in the Public Defender's Office will not only contribute to the preservation of the environment but also strengthen its institutional image, improve operational efficiency, and provide a healthier working environment. It is a continuous process that requires commitment, monitoring, and constant evaluation of results, aiming to build a more sustainable future.
