description Family farming is one of the increasingly popular and important phenomena in Brazil. The form of work production present in the Brazilian countryside assumes multiple responsibilities throughout the history of agricultural development in the country, taking into account the social and economic phenomenon in Brazil. This occurs due to the responsibility of producing substantial food, that is, agricultural crops responsible for food, such as beans, rice, vegetables. In this context, the need for healthy food and health are terms that are correlated, which proves an increase in the production of organic food, however, on the other hand, organic production is not an easy process, due to the need for high production and agronomic care to meet the demands of the population. Following these points, the search for technologies aimed at food quality is a very important point, especially in regions where the edaphoclimatic conditions are more severe, as is the case of the city of Caicó - RN. In this perspective, the present work aims to analyze the cost of implementing protected systems based on the use of alternative materials or low cost as a collaborative measure for family farming. Therefore, an exploratory study based on bibliographical and documental research on investments and operational costs of alternative constructions of agricultural greenhouses was proposed. It is understood that the adoption of a protected system will contribute to the development of agriculture in the region, however, the acquisition of a greenhouse has high costs. Given this, the present work focuses on the use of alternative materials, as presented in the methodology, lowering the cost and meeting expectations, which presents a viable project. Based on data on the costs of building an alternative greenhouse, it was found that the system has viable costs, in addition to the fact that these materials are found in the city, which facilitates transportation to the location, where in most locations researched, the companies provide the transport service without charging transport fees, making it more viable and the costs adequate to the producer.

A agricultura familiar é um dos fenômenos cada vez mais populares e importantes no Brasil. A forma de produção de trabalho presente no campo brasileiro, assumem múltiplas responsabilidades no decorrer da história do desenvolvimento agrícola no país, levando-se em consideração o fenômeno social e econômico no Brasil. Isto ocorre em função da responsabilidade de produção de alimentos substanciais, ou seja, culturas agrícolas responsáveis pela alimentação, como o feijão, arroz, hortaliças. Neste contexto, a necessidade de alimentos saudáveis e saúde são termos que estão correlacionados, o que comprova aumento na produção de alimentos orgânicos. Porém, em contrapartida, a produção orgânica não é um processo fácil, em função da necessidade de alta produção e cuidados agronômicos visando atender as demandas da população. Seguindo estes pontos, a busca por tecnologias visando qualidade alimentar é um ponto bastante importante, principalmente em regiões onde as condições edafoclimáticas mais severas, como é o caso da cidade de Caicó - RN. Nesta perspectiva, o presente trabalho teve por finalidade analisar o custo de implantação de sistemas protegidos baseados na utilização de materiais alternativos ou baixo custo como medida colaborativa para agricultura familiar. Para tanto, propôs-se um estudo exploratório baseado em pesquisa bibliográfica e documental sobre investimentos e custos operacionais de construções alternativas de estufas agrícolas. Entende-se que a adoção de um sistema protegido contribuirá no desenvolvimento da agricultura na região, entretanto, a aquisição de estufa apresenta altos custos. Visto isto, o presente trabalho teve como foco a utilização de materiais alternativos, barateando o custo e atendendo as expectavas, o que apresenta um projeto viável.
