According to the National Household Sample Survey (PNAD), there were approximately 11 million illiterate people in the country in 2019 – which is equivalent to 6.6% of the Brazilian population, in addition, the average of this rate is higher in the Northeast and North regions. Addressing such a complex issue that involves deep layers of our society requires sensitivity and responsibility, taking into account all the consequences that illiteracy brings to the development of the individual in his private and social environment. This technical-scientific report is focused on the narrative construction, creation of the script and the direction of the short film “Amor Puro” and aims to present the work from its first steps, describing the technical, scientific and aesthetic choices that make up the audiovisual work from the development of its narrative and its directing process. The film's narrative tackles the theme of literacy in a drama that involves the struggle of a solo mother, Maria Madalena, and her 18-year-old son, João conflicts arise in the small space in which they live, but this does not prevent the child from returning to his mother what she offered him most: love and education, presenting new ways to overcome illiteracy through the patience and affection that the bond of mother and child brings. How communicate better than through love? O analfabetismo ainda é um problema no Brasil. De acordo com a Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (PNAD), existiam aproximadamente 11 milhões de pessoas analfabetas no país em 2019 — o que equivale a 6,6% da população brasileira, além disso, a média dessa taxa é maior nas regiões Nordeste e Norte. Abordar um tema tão complexo que envolve camadas profundas de nossa sociedade requer sensibilidade e responsabilidade, levando em conta todas as consequências que o analfabetismo traz para o desenvolvimento do indivíduo em seu ambiente privado e social. Este relatório técnico-científico é focado na construção narrativa, criação do roteiro e da direção do curta-metragem Amor Puro e tem como objetivo apresentar a obra desde seus primeiros passos, descrevendo as escolhas técnicas, científicas e estéticas que compõem a obra audiovisual a partir do desenvolvimento de sua narrativa e de seu processo de direção. A narrativa do filme aborda o tema da alfabetização em um drama que envolve a luta de uma mãe solo, Maria Madalena e seu filho de 18 anos, o João. Os conflitos diários afloram no pequeno espaço em que moram, mas isso não inviabiliza que o filho devolva sobre sua mãe o que ela mais o ofereceu: o amor e a educação, apresentando novas maneiras de vencer o analfabetismo por meio da paciência e afeto que o laço de mãe e filho traz.
