Resumo:Illiteracy is still a problem in Brazil. According to the National Household Sample Survey (PNAD), there were approximately 11 million illiterate people in the country in 2019 – which is equivalent to 6.6% of the Brazilian population, in addition, the average of this rate is higher in the Northeast and North regions. Addressing such a complex issue that involves deep layers of our society requires sensitivity and responsibility, taking into account all the consequences that illiteracy brings to the development of the individual in his private and social environment. This technical-scientific report is focused on the narrative construction, creation of the script and the direction of the short film “Amor Puro” and aims to present the work from its first steps, describing the technical, scientific and aesthetic choices that make up the audiovisual work from the development of its narrative and its directing process. The film's narrative tackles the theme of literacy in a drama that involves the struggle of a solo mother, Maria Madalena, and her 18-year-old son, João conflicts arise in the small space in which they live, but this does not prevent the child from returning to his mother what she offered him most: love and education, presenting new ways to overcome illiteracy through the patience and affection that the bond of mother and child brings. How communicate better than through love?
