This study provides an analysis of the sector in recent years, highlighting the main transformations in the electricity industry. Following the analysis, a case study is presented on a consumer unit (CU) that migrated to the free energy market. This enables an understanding of the reasons behind the creation of the current energy commercialization model and the impact of a consumer unit's migration. Nos últimos anos, o modelo energético como a forma como é comercializada a energia vem passando por diversas transformações, principalmente pela transição energética que o Brasil está passando e a logística e complexidade do setor elétrico brasileiro. Diante disso, esse trabalho traz uma análise do setor nos últimos anos, apontando as principais transformações do setor elétrico. Após a análise, é apresentado um estudo de caso de uma unidade consumidora (UC) que fez a migração para o mercado livre de energia.
