Resumo:The significant increase in tourist influx over the past two decades, driven by the natural beauty of the Patrimônio da Penha community, including its crystal-clear waterfalls and imposing mountains located near the Caparaó National Park in Divino São Lourenço - ES, has highlighted the lack of geological information in the region's tourism activities. This research aimed to address this gap by developing a comprehensive geological guide to enhance access to tourist attractions and their surroundings while providing a didactic exploration of the underlying concepts. To achieve this objective, the following steps were undertaken. Firstly, a pre-fieldwork phase involved extensive bibliographic research on geotourism, geoconservation, and regional geology of the Caparaó Range. This was followed by the delineation of the main trail area, referred to as the "Subida das Águas," and its surroundings. Additionally, geological, vegetation, and geomorphological maps were created, and satellite images and topographic information were obtained using Geographic Information System (GIS) software. The second phase comprised a seven-day fieldwork expedition in the region, collecting relevant data. In the third phase, the acquired data from the previous stages underwent analysis and processing. The culmination of this research effort resulted in the development of an interactive application providing quick and user-friendly access to maps, photos, videos, and trail information. The primary purpose of this application is to promote and foster geotourism and geoeducation in the area. By creating this geological guide, the project seeks to address the need for comprehensive geological information in tourism activities, empowering visitors with knowledge of the geological context, and facilitating a deeper appreciation of the region's natural attractions. Furthermore, the application serves as a valuable tool for promoting geotourism and facilitating educational opportunities, contributing to the sustainable development of the Patrimônio da Penha community and its surrounding areas.
