Resumo:To analyze the correlation between socioeconomic and demographic aspects, clinical profile and lifestyle in adult patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in the city of Santa Cruz - RN and the intensity of the symptoms presented. This is a cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, developed with 87 participants who were in home isolation due to the coronavirus infection. Data collection took place between August 2020 and May 2021 through telephone calls and WhatsApp, including individuals over 18 years old, diagnosed with COVID-19 in home isolation, excluding hospitalized adults, children and adolescents. Individuals with a low level of education, considering the time of schooling in years, diagnosed with cardiovascular diseases, who did not perform daily physical activity and who had loss of appetite during the infection associated with a decrease in food intake were more likely to develop strong symptoms or severe cases of COVID-19. Given this, it was observed that there is a correlation between the sociodemographic and clinical profile with the intensity of symptoms, 6 where, schooling time in years, cardiovascular diseases, physical activity and appetite showed statistical significance in the population of this study. Research limitations were related to low adherence to the study, with a sample of only 87 participants. It is suggested that further research be carried out in order to elucidate other aspects of the disease.
