Resumo:It is understood that art is a fundamental element for the development of sensitive, creative, critical and social aspects in human formation, in this context, it is essential that we know how it is worked within the perspective of the integral formation of subjects. Based on a retrospective study, this article presents the results of a qualitative research aimed at licensed teachers in pedagogy who work in early childhood education. It was held in Seridó potiguar in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, which had as its main objective to analyze art in the pedagogical practice of teachers for the integral formation of the subjects. The analysis of the data from the research has a comparative degree (but not competitive) in relation to the realities experienced by the educators, while we carry out a bibliographical survey of approximation with the central theme. The article ends with the analysis of the discourses which were reached through the focal research carried out and the questionnaire applied to the participants, and as final considerations it is argued that art is indispensable to education and human formation, but for there to be total effectiveness, it is necessary to pay attention to possible obstacles, such as: professional lack of preparation, lack of incentive, access to the arts, and the polarization between arts considered “popular” and those considered “elitist”.
