Resumo:This research aimed to relate sociodemographic factors to the financial literacy of the military at the Natal Air Force Base. For that, a questionnaire was applied, answered voluntarily and anonymously. The instrument was divided into two blocks, the first consisting of questions related to the respondents' sociodemographic profiles and the second, fragmented into three parts, aimed to assess financial literacy through three factors: financial knowledge, financial behavior and attitude financial. The data, collected by survey research, were investigated quantitatively in a multivariate statistical analysis, with multiple regression and hypothesis tests. As a result, the study revealed that the analyzed public has more knowledge in compound interest followed by understanding inflation and understanding about risk diversification; the institution has a well-structured financial education program; There is awareness of the importance of controlling monthly expenses and establishing financial goals for the future. The study concludes that there is a significant relationship between education and income, unlike the other constructs. This contradiction with other investigations can be attributed to the particularities of the institution.
