Resumo:Knowing the anatomical components and knowing how to recognize anomalies in babies is essential, both for dentists, as well as for those responsible and for health professionals. With this, dentistry for babies becomes a field of study and a dental practice of paramount importance. For this reason, the objective of this work was to develop an informative-educational instrument on the morphological characteristics of the newborn's oral cavity. This is the presentation of a technical-scientific product developed from the review of the scientific literature available in the electronic databases BVS, PubMed and Scielo and in books. The target audience are pregnant women, puerperal women, as well as dentists and other health professionals who participate in dental prenatal consultations and growth and development consultations within the scope of the public health service, in the Basic Health Units (UBS) and in a Municipal Hospital, both in the city of Caicó/RN. It is of fundamental importance that parents, guardians, dentists and other health professionals be able to recognize the characteristics of the baby's oral cavity, seeking to minimize concerns, provide clarifications and collaborate with the provision of care to this group populational.
