Resumo:Football and the press have been characterized since the emergence of the sport in the country by a relation of interdependence, amplified with the advent of television and subsequent broadcasts of the games. This monograph shows the predominance of the repercussion of football in relation to other sports in the media, especially television, analyzing in retrospect its impact on the country and the history of TV Globo transmissions in this field, two issues that intersected at various moments over the decades, mainly during the matches of the Brazilian National Team. An analysis of the broadcaster's coverage of the men's final between Brazil and Germany during the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro is highlighted, as is the Jornal Nacional news show about the Brazilian victory, observing from a number of different angles, for example as interviewing journalists involved, in the priority that was dedicated to football event during a multi-sport event such as the Olympic Games.
