Resumo:This paper aims to highlight the differentiation between a children's literature book and a paradidactic book, based on an internship experience in a Level I class, with children between 2 and 3 years old, which took place in 2018 in a Municipal Center for Early Childhood Education (CMEI) located in the eastern area of Natal/RN. Specifically, it seeks to analyze the characteristics of literature books designed for children and to compare them to paradidactic books, highlighting the relevance of children's literature in early childhood education for the formation of readers. In this perspective, the report is theoretically based on the concepts of Reading, Children's Literature and Paradidacts, based on the studies developed by Araújo (1996), Amarilha (2000), Cademartori (2010), Munakata (1997), Azevedo (2018), Yasuda and Teixeira (1995), Azevedo (1999), Parreiras (2012), among other authors. As conclusive aspects, the work highlights the indispensability of teacher training, specifically in the area of children's literature, since it was observed the need for theoretical and practical knowledge of this area to circumvent the teacher's lack of information in the implementation of literary project in the education of very young children.
