| Resumo: | The article aims to analyze the behavior of public revenue in Carnaúba dos Dantas/RN, emphasizing the city's dependence on constitutional transfers and the difficulties encountered in maximizing its own revenue. To this end, a research was carried out in the available bibliography on public budget, in addition to documentary research in budget pieces and interviews with municipal managers. The results showed that Carnaúba dos Dantas has a high degree of dependence on government transfers and a low tax collection power within its competence. Furthermore, the city's budget data indicate disparities between the budgeted amounts and those actually executed, that is, the budget realized turned out to be lower than what was initially planned. |
