Resumo:It is true that the internet has provided a considerable increase in the flow of information among the most diverse members of society, whether individuals, organizations or even States, bringing countless benefits to humanity and offering the most varied facilities for everyday life, both in terms of economic production and communication in general. On the other hand, it is also true that from its use came a series of problems, among which it is possible to mention the modernization and the incremento of the complexity of criminal techniques, a phenomenon that culminated in the development of computer crimes. The present work aims to identify what are the main challenges presented to Brazilian Criminal Law regarding these crimes, proposing possible ways to face them. The research was basic strategic, descriptive, with qualitative approach, hypothetical-deductive method and bibliographic technique, based on legislation, doctrine and precedents. Finally, three major challenges are highlighted, related to the investigation of cybercrimes, their transnationality and the mechanisms of information security. In addition, some measures that can be taken by the Brazilian State and by the individuals are pointed out, in order to improve this battle.
