| Resumo: | The Brazilian semi-arid is a region that has numerous environmental, cultural, and socioeconomic characteristics that make it different from other semi-arid regions in the world. Among these characteristics is the irregularity of rainfall and water scarcity. In view of this, projects and public policies are implemented in the region aimed at living with the drought, among which those that contribute to the dissemination of social technologies, such as cisterns. These are aimed at storing water to be used in periods of drought and can be found in several municipalities that are part of the region, such as Ipueira-RN. In this sense, the present work seeks to analyze the typologies of cisterns present in Ipueira and investigate their different uses, having as a theoretical basis scientific works and information collected in the field for the development of the research. According to the analysis carried out, plate cisterns prevail in the municipality of Ipueira, which are used mainly for human supply and animal watering. |
