Resumo:This study aimed to identify the evidence in the literature on the handling of the airways with laryngeal mask by the nurse in emergency care. The descriptive study of the integrative literature review was carried out in January 2023, in the databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (Lilacs), ScienceDirect, Web of Science and US National Library of Medicine (PubMed), through the Journal Portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), with access by the Federated Academic Community (CAFe), with the following question: what evidence is available in the literature about the handling of the airways with laryngeal mask by the nurse? Cardiorespiratory arrest stands out as the predominant event where the use of the laryngeal mask is used, evidencing it as an adequate and safe equipment to be used in the management of the airways, performed by nurses, provided that they are properly trained. Continuing education is reaffirmed as a strategy for improving care practices through the promotion of the enrichment of professional knowledge, in a continuous way. The study made it possible to identify evidence on the management of the airways with laryngeal mask by nurses in emergency and emergency care, pointing to the equipment as a safe alternative, emphasizing the need for training for nurses.
