Resumo:The advent of the Covid-19 pandemic printed new work rhythms that caused an overload among health workers, especially for those who work in the urgency and emergency network. This fact placed the health professionals in challenging conditions, with physical and mental exhaustion, increasing the risk of psychological suffering and evidencing the vulnerability of these professionals. The study aimed to investigate the impacts of the Pandemic on work and the conditions that may be associated with the illness of workers in the Urgency and Emergency Service, whether due to physical or psychological problems. This is an integrative literature review, in which the following databases were used: Medline, Scielo, Scopus, Lilacs and Web of Science. From the definition of the descriptors and the elaboration of the research strategies, a database was created in the Mendeley reference manager, with the articles obtained in the consulted bases. Initially, a universe of 1,021 articles was constituted, which were analyzed based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, proceeding to the reading of titles and abstracts. From this universe, 18 articles remained (N - 18) to form the final bank of articles to be read in full. The analysis had two stages: in the first, a table was built with the main characteristics and thematic approaches of the articles studied and in the second, a qualitative analysis of content was carried out, from the definition of large thematic blocks treated. Among the main conclusions, it is highlighted that the pandemic externalized issues related to mental health and the psychological impact on health professionals, demonstrating significant prevalence of anxiety, depression, burnout, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (TEPT) and sleep disorders. It was observed that belonging to the nursing category, being female, less time of professional practice or lack of professional experience, working conditions, as well as fear of contamination and transmission, were the factors most associated with mental disorders, in their different intensities. It is noteworthy that these findings are relevant at the management level of urgency and emergency services, which have as a challenge the development of actions aimed at promoting health at work and reducing the factors that cause illness.
