description The tourism interiorisation in Rio Grande do Norte (RN) dates back to the 1970s and is related to the development of public policies that fosters the increase of tourism activities at those places. Between mainly programs there is the “Caminhos do Elefante” (1982), proposed by EMPROTUR, in order to create touristic routes, in which the city of Martins (RN) is included. According to the “Plano de Desenvolvimento Integrado de Turismo Sustentável” (PDITS), nowadays the town receives people mostly interested in its natural and cultural attractions (PESSOA, 2017), generating movement in the economy and being a significant part of the city GPD (IBGE, 2014). But although the city depends on natural and cultural aspects to attract tourists, what is practiced in Martins is the commercialization of an experience in which you feel that you are in another state or even in another country. Advertisements like “the Switzerland of Northeast Brazil'' contribute to the construction of accommodation spaces out of local context, with an architectural language full of “foreign expressions” that do not meet the bioclimatic demands of the region. Thus, the main goal of this work is to develop a lodge's preliminary study focused on cultural tourism, using the concepts of tectonics and passive strategies of bioclimatic comfort in its conception. The specific goals are: 1) Identify the main particularities that guide the planning of a hosting equipment; 2) Recognize which elements can be worked on to help achieve formal tectonicity and bioclimatic performance; and 3) Apply techniques and materials to the project that favor thermal performance, as well as the expression of tectonicity in the building. For this purpose, the theoretical basis about the subject is based on the systematization of bibliographic data, reference studies and technical visits, using the gained knowledge in the architectural proposal. In this way, we obtain a hosting equipment contextualized to the location in which it is inserted, meeting the physical and environmental demands of the region and corresponding to the expectations of its target audience.

A interiorização do turismo no Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (RN) remonta a década de 1970 e está atrelada ao desenvolvimento de políticas públicas que fomentaram a expansão das atividades turísticas nesses locais. Dentre os principais programas está o Caminhos do Elefante (1982), o qual foi proposto pela EMPROTUR, a fim de criar roteiros turísticos como o Roteiro Serrano, no qual o município de Martins insere-se. De acordo com o Plano de Desenvolvimento Integrado de Turismo Sustentável (PDITS), atualmente a cidade recebe visitantes que buscam majoritariamente conhecer seus atrativos naturais e culturais (PESSOA, 2017), movimentando a economia e compondo boa parte do PIB da cidade (IBGE, 2014). No entanto, mesmo dependendo de seus aspectos naturais e culturais para atrair visitantes, o que é visto em Martins é a adoção de estratégias que buscam comercializar a experiência de se estar fora do país ou Estado. Merchandisings como “a Suíça do Nordeste” contribuem para a construção de espaços de hospedagem descontextualizados do local, com uma linguagem arquitetônica repleta de “estrangeirismos” e que não atendem as demandas bioclimáticas da região. Dessa forma, torna-se o objetivo geral deste trabalho desenvolver o estudo preliminar de uma pousada voltada para o turismo cultural, utilizando os conceitos de tectônica e estratégias passivas de conforto bioclimático em sua concepção. São ainda os objetivos específicos: 1) Identificar as principais particularidades que norteiam o planejamento de um equipamento de hospedagem; 2) Reconhecer quais elementos podem ser trabalhados para auxiliar no alcance da tectonicidade formal e do desempenho bioclimático; e 3) Aplicar no projeto técnicas e materiais que favoreçam o desempenho térmico, bem como a expressão da tectonicidade no edifício. Para tanto, constrói-se a base teórica sobre o tema a partir da sistematização de dados bibliográficos, estudos de referência e de visitas técnicas, rebatendo este conhecimento adquirido na proposta arquitetônica.
