| Resumo: | The mega gated communities are a type of enterprises that cause a great impact in the urban scenario of the cities, since they are large structures that often settle in the area disregarding its surroundings. In this study, the impacts of these gated communities were analyzed and proposals for harm reduction were made, based on the concept of urbanity and its aspects. In this way, a bibliographic review was carried out seeking the origins of these structures and the justifications for their presentation and consolidation in the urban scenario. The study case used as a basis was a gated community, located in Parnamirim/RN, and the proposals for improving the urbanity of its surroundings were individually designed for this example. Thus, it was possible to verify that despite the presence in relevant numbers of this enterprise in the Brazilian urban scenario, its existence is questionable from a social and legal point of view,and even with the strategies of such changes would hardly be applicable, given the real estate and social interests associated with the construction of this type of housing. |
