Resumo:Financial education – also called financial literacy – is a process in which knowledge about financial products is disseminated in society and people are guided to develop the necessary skills to make conscious financial decisions, according to the risks and existing opportunities. The main objective of this study is to analyze the potential of adopting international recommendations on financial education in Brazil, for secondary education in the years 2019 to 2021. For this, bibliographical research and documental analysis were combined with a quali-quantitative approach to identify the topics considered in the questions of the OBEF tests, compared them with the ENEF recommendations and analyze the international recommendations on the teaching of financial education. The tests were built with the intention to correspond to the age of their participants, focusing on themes that are more appropriate to the individuals' growth phase and guided by international recommendations for the promotion of financial education.
