Resumo: | Objective: To evaluate the anthropometric status, quality of life and eating habits of
individuals with Crohn's Disease (CD). Methods: This is a cross-sectional,
quantitative and analytical study carried out with individuals diagnosed with Crohn's
disease who reside in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The participants answered,
through a questionnaire on Google forms, about socioeconomic and anthropometric
aspects, in addition to The Inflammatory Bowel Disease Questionnaire (IBDQ) and
food frequency. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: 40
individuals (80% female) participated in the survey. The percentage of weight loss
was expressive in up to 10%, as well as for weight gain above 20%. Quality of life
(QoL) was low (total score <50%), and intestinal symptoms had a strong positive
correlation with the four IBDQ domains. There were changes in food consumption
after the diagnosis of CD, with less daily intake of ultra-processed foods, as well as
margarine, beans and flatulent foods. Conclusion: CD had an important impact on
QoL, and it was possible to verify changes in weight, which, although they improved
their nutritional status, a high weight loss can impair the patient's general condition.
