Resumo:In the scenario of Brazilian education there is a widely known assessment: the National High School Examination – ENEM. It was instituted more than 20 years ago, precisely, in 1998, and, at that time, its focus was strictly limited to assessing the level of graduates of basic education in Brazil. However, ENEM currently holds enormous importance, since, over the years, it has been transforming and acquiring new attributions, such as the power to become the main channel through which said graduates can enter undergraduate courses, considering almost all Brazilian universities (public or private) as well as some Portuguese universities. Precisely for this reason, studies involving aspects related to ENEM are important. In the case of this research, attention is focused on the study of factors that can influence the performance of participants in the ENEM in the year 2018 and approved in the SISU in the year 2019 for the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN. With that in mind, this work, methodologically developed with the support of Descriptive Statistics tools, seeks to scrutinize the profile of candidates who gained access to higher education at UFRN, in 2019, via the Unified Selection System’s access to higher education program – SISU, analyzing possible influences of these factors.
