From the perspective of cases in which signs, symptoms or changes in the disease period persist, the term "long COVID" emerged, i.e., long COVID or post-COVID syndrome. The objective of this study was to verify the changes related to functionality and its related factors of users of Basic Health Units of Santa Cruz with long COVID. The study was observational, descriptive, cross-sectional and quantitative in nature. The population consisted of the Basic Health Units of the municipality of Santa Cruz who tested positive for COVID-19, and the sample was convenience. It was found that the sample n (n=53) of the UBS of Santa Cruz/RN presented symptoms of long COVID-19, the most self-reported: cognitive alterations (memory), sleep alterations, hair loss, fatigue and dyspnea on efforts. In general, women reported persistence of symptoms more than men, especially with regard to health-related quality of life. Regarding the functionality aspect of the participants, it was worse considering a longer time of contamination and worse symptomatology time. Therefore, the continuity of research on long COVID is necessary together with Primary Health Care, which will bring better clarifications to the multidisciplinary team in order to outline strategies for action in public policies in the longitudinal monitoring of individuals, favoring a lower rate of limitations in the process of restructuring the return to their functional activities.

A Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) anunciou em 2019 um novo tipo de coronavírus, o SARS-CoV-2. Na perspectiva de casos em que sinais, sintomas ou mudanças do período da doença persistem, surgiu o termo “long COVID”, ou seja, COVID longa ou síndrome pós COVID. O trabalho teve como objetivo verificar as alterações referentes à funcionalidade e seus fatores relacionados, dos usuários de Unidades Básicas de Saúde de Santa Cruz com COVID longa. O estudo foi de natureza observacional, descritivo, transversal e de caráter quantitativo. A população foi composta por usuários das Unidades Básicas de Saúde do município de Santa Cruz que testaram positivo para a COVID-19, sendo a amostra por conveniência. Verificou-se que o n amostral (n=53) das UBS de Santa Cruz/RN apresentou sintomatologias da COVID-19 longa, sendo as mais autorrelatadas: alterações cognitivas (memória), alterações no sono, queda de cabelo, fadiga e dispneia aos esforços. De modo geral, as mulheres relataram persistência dos sintomas mais que os homens, principalmente no que diz respeito à qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde. Quanto ao aspecto de funcionalidade dos participantes, apresentou-se pior levando em consideração um maior tempo de contaminação e gravidade da sintomatologia.
