Resumo:The present work emphasizes the importance of thinking about playfulness in the teaching of children's ballet. The study took place at the Centro Educacional Novo Horizonte school, where we present the pedagogical reality of a private school in the city of Natal/RN, in the North Zone. It aimed to discuss the teaching of ballet in childhood and to report a brief experience at this level of education, in which the ludic dimension was the guiding principle of possible strategies in the initiation to ballet. The research used a methodology of case study with a qualitative approach, under the bias of the experience report from classes given to children aged 3 to 6 years old, with the frequency of two weekly meetings. They are crossings of the children's universe and playfulness that encourage this reflection and indicate strategies for teaching and learning classical ballet. It is possible to say that the ludic is a pedagogical tool that can be sought by ballet teachers as a reference that integrates the children's imagination and favors the learning of the dance technique in check. In this way, the intention is that students learn in a pleasant, concrete and, consequently, more meaningful way, culminating in a quality ballet teaching.
